Following Divine Liturgy and the icon processeion, the faithful of St. Thekla gathered to hear a presentation by Merona Benfeldt.  Merona is a local iconographer originally from Romania.  During her talk she shared with us how she became interested in learning to write icons while studying art.  Merona delivered an inspiring presentation on the role of icons in the Orthodox Church.  She brought with her a beautiful icon of the Theotokos which she said took several months to complete.
